Farmland Celebrated their 100th
anniversary of the Fire Dept in 1990. The truck on the left is the first
piece of equipment , on the right the first motorized truck
Farmland's first motorized trucks was
this 1922 American LaFrance Purchased new in l922 From Elmira New York and
now restored to perfect conditions
Later on the Department had this 1928
Hudson Fire Truck built by Hubbard Mfg in Farmland and was used through
the late 50's then was replaced
In 1935 Farmland purchased a 1919 Stutz
Pumper Truck. This truck was bought from Havarti Grace, Maryland, where it
was purchased new and used till 1935 and brought to Farmland
Farmland in need of getting water to the
township's and some area's of Farmland with the help of Hubbard's Mfg
built this 1953 Chevy Tanker Which carried 1000 gallons of water
Farmland as a lot of departments use to
build all of the trucks In 1974 this was the first grass rig or the start.
The department purchased a 1974 Chevrolet and a utility bed and begin.
The front bumper was the
first thing finished on the new grass rig, it has a place for two men to
ride and two grass nozzle's were mounted on the sides.
The truck was equipped with a
200 gallon Stainless steal tank and one booster reel and line . The truck
was later equipped with some light rescue tools and the department started
working rescue runs.
This was the first rescue
tools that Farmland Fire Department Purchase to put on the truck for light
rescue call's . It worked well for awhile then the calls started getting
more frequent then heavier tools were added.
This is a new version of the
the 74 and most of the work was done by the department now the truck runs
first out and heavy rescue. This tuck will be seen at every Fire
The KME is Farmland's number
one response engine . Most of the country fires will see this truck
and 8 firefighters inside packed up and ready to respond upon arrival at a
scene
The Army 2 1/2 ton truck was
a familiar site at a lot of stations. The firemen built this truck as a
tanker to haul water to county fire's . I don't think they would want to
go through that again
The department purchase a Ford Chassis and
spent a lot of nights at Hubbard's Mfc welding and bending steal to make
this tank. Dump tank dropped of the side and the truck was in service
This truck was changed over
to stainless steal tank after lots of problems with the metal on the old
tank. Now carrying a little more water and working much better this truck
run a lot of water to the townships.
In 1991 the department
purchased a tanker that was designed to due one job and that is to haul
water and this one will do the job. This tanker is still in service . You
can read about it at the bottom of this page
The department purchased the
bed of a Ryder truck and put together a trailer to move and store the
Model T Fire truck
The trailer has carpet, and
lights inside and out ramps that slide under the floor lock downs in the
floor to secure the truck.
The department now has for
fighting grass fire's this 1978 jeep, you can read about its purpose at
the bottom of this page
For a short period of time
the department used this van to haul equipment and men to emergency scenes
and bring equipment back.
This 1971 Ford Pumper was
used for many years, rebuilt completely and used again for another 10
years. It was replaced with the KME at the bottom of this page.
1970 Ford 536 with a l000 gallon a
minute pump no longer with the department.
Ford tanker that the
volunteers built and is now longer with the department
Farmlands first motorized

Farmland.
Farmlands next to go this
