The Farmland Fire Department with
the help of a lot of other departments
spent the afternoon the day before
Prom night showing the Juniors and
Seniors what can happen if you get
in a hurry or drink when you drive. The
mock accident had two vehicles hit and
some kids were ejected from the cars
some were trapped inside and had to
be cut from those vehicles with the
rescue tools the department carries on
the trucks for such an event.  The  kids
were made up to show the seriousness
of what could happen in accidents.  The
cars were cut open and the kids removed

The Randolph County Sheriff's Dept.
and the Indiana State Police did the
investigation of the accidents and
Notifying parents of victims. The kids
were taken care of at the scene by the
Parker City 1st responders and the
Randolph County EMS. The Coroner was
at the scene to remove the on fatality and
the others were taken by ambulance to
area hospitals.
The Farmland Fire Rescue and the
Parker Vol. Fire Department cut
the cars open for extraction of the
patients and even parents of the kids

the accident look real as possible.

the parts, its not easy to play this scene.

The Fire Department has installed an
air handling system to keep carbon
monoxide down to a minimum in the
station since the building will be used

as an emergency shelter in the event
of a disaster or other emergencies. All
trucks are equipped with the system so
at anytime a vehicle starts the system
starts automatic and removes the
from the building through a pump in the
attic and out through vents at the end of
the building. The hoses let go when the
truck reaches the door and the truck is
free to continue without stopping.
The Fire Department being used as
an emergency shelter also has a new
power system to provide emergency
power for the entire building incase
a tornado or other disaster that might
occur the power and the generator has
been installed by the department and
and will start automatically incase  a
loss of power should occur.  The unit is a
Cat with a 4 cylinder Cat diesel engine
with a 40 KW 240 Volt 3 phase. It will run
everything in the station without any loss.
